Is a Seasonal Care Package Right for You? What Omaha Homeowners Need to Know

If you've been a customer of Alternate Rain for any length of time, you already know the drill. Spring rolls around, you call to schedule your startup. Fall comes, you call again for winterization. It works — but this year we decided to make it easier. We just launched our Seasonal Care Packages, and if you haven't looked into them yet, here's everything you need to know.

What is a Seasonal Care Package?

A Seasonal Care Package is exactly what it sounds like — a single plan that covers your sprinkler system from the first warm day of spring to the last cold night of fall. Instead of calling twice a year to schedule two separate appointments, you sign up once and we handle the rest. No reminders, no scrambling to get on the schedule before the first freeze, no thinking about it at all.

We offer three tiers depending on what your system needs:

Essential covers your spring startup and fall winterization — the two visits every Omaha homeowner needs every single year. If your system was installed by us and is self-draining, this is the plan for most straightforward residential properties.

Premium includes everything in Essential plus a mid-season check in the heat of summer. During that visit we inspect your heads, check your zones, adjust coverage, and make sure your system is performing at its best when your lawn needs water the most. For homeowners who want complete peace of mind all season long, Premium is the way to go.

Custom is available for properties with specialty needs — lake pumps, systems with more than 16 zones, or anything that falls outside the standard residential setup. If you're not sure which tier fits your property, just give us a call and we'll point you in the right direction.

Why does the mid-season check matter?

A lot can happen to a sprinkler system between April and October. Heads get bumped by lawn mowers. Zones develop leaks. Coverage patterns shift over time. Valves start to stick. None of these issues are obvious until your lawn starts showing dry spots or you get an unexpectedly high water bill — and by then the damage is already done.

The mid-season check that comes with the Premium package is designed to catch these problems early, before they turn into expensive repairs or a stressed-out lawn in the middle of July. Our crew goes through your entire system zone by zone, adjusts anything that's out of alignment, and flags anything that needs attention. Most of the time it's minor stuff. Occasionally we catch something that would have become a much bigger problem by fall. Either way, you leave that visit knowing your system is dialed in for the rest of the season.

What does it cost?

Our Essential package is $210 and our Premium package is $285. When you break that down against what you'd pay scheduling startup and winterization separately — plus the value of a mid-season inspection — the packages represent real savings, not just convenience. And because you're locked in at the start of the season, you don't have to worry about rate changes or availability when the busy season hits.

For Custom packages, pricing is determined based on your specific property. Give us a call and we'll put together a quote.

What about scheduling?

One of the biggest advantages of the Seasonal Care Package is that your appointments are already on our schedule. You don't have to remember to call in March when startup season kicks off and our phones are ringing off the hook. You don't have to worry about getting squeezed out in October when everyone is trying to schedule winterization before the first hard freeze. Package customers get priority scheduling — your visits are already accounted for before we open the phones to everyone else.

In a season like this one — where startup demand has been unusually high — that peace of mind is worth a lot on its own.

Is it right for every homeowner?

Honestly, the Essential package makes sense for almost any Omaha homeowner with an irrigation system. Startup and winterization aren't optional — your system needs both every single year to perform properly and to avoid damage. Bundling them into one plan at a set price just makes the process simpler and more predictable.

The Premium package is a great fit if you've ever come home to dry patches in the middle of summer, if you've had head or valve issues in past seasons — you can read more about common problems on our FAQs page — or if you simply want the reassurance of knowing a professional has eyes on your system three times a year instead of two. It's also the right choice for larger properties or lawns where irrigation coverage is more complex.

If you're on the fence, the best thing to do is contact us. We know your system — or we'll take the time to understand it — and we'll give you an honest recommendation based on what your property actually needs, not just what costs more.

How do I sign up?

We launched the Seasonal Care Packages this spring and enrollment is already underway. Visit our Seasonal Care page to see full package details, or give us a call at (402) 289-4019 or send a message to info@alternaterain.com. Our office team will get you set up and answer any questions you have.

We built these packages because we heard from customers year after year that they wanted a simpler way to stay on top of their system. This is our answer to that. We think once you try it, you won't go back to scheduling one visit at a time. And if you're a new customer considering your first sprinkler installation, ask us about bundling a Seasonal Care Package from day one — it's the easiest way to protect your investment from the start.
